Frequently asked questions about KIC Radio live
No — KIC Radio broadcasts over the internet only, so there is no frequency to find on a set. That is a deliberate trade: an online station skips the cost of a broadcast licence and reaches the whole country from day one, but it needs a connection at the listener's end. Press play above and it runs in the browser.
Britain has an unusual claim on this music — jungle, drum and bass, UK garage and grime all originated here — and stations like KIC Radio exist to give those styles the airtime that playlist radio does not.
Stations built on older music work from a settled catalogue rather than a rotating playlist, which is the point: the songs have already proved they last, and the audience comes precisely because it knows them.
Not blocked. Listening to British radio from abroad is one of the more common uses of streaming, and KIC Radio is available worldwide, free and without an account.
Free, with no subscription and no paid tier. British radio is funded either by advertising or, in the BBC's case, by the licence fee — either way, listening costs the listener nothing.
