Beckview Studios Radio live

Beckview Studios Radio is the online station of Beckview Studios, an independent residential recording studio on the Yorkshire coast at Scarborough, North Yorkshire. What makes it unusual is where the music comes from. Most of the schedule is original work and live sessions recorded in the studio itself, which means the station owns the rights to what it broadcasts — a position almost no other station is in, and one that removes the licensing problem that normally limits what a small independent broadcaster can play. Its monthly music show, North Sea Soundcheck, is produced with Yorkshire Coast Gigs and covers the local scene. The schedule also carries The Lounge: Live at Beckview Studios, a strand of studio performances. For anyone following music on the Yorkshire coast, it is closer to a shop window for a working studio than to a conventional radio format, and that is the reason to listen.
