Frequently asked questions about Boom Light live
No — Boom Light broadcasts over the internet only, so there is no frequency to find on a set. That is a deliberate trade: an online station skips the cost of a broadcast licence and reaches the whole country from day one, but it needs a connection at the listener's end. Press play above and it runs in the browser.
Boom Light keeps a mixed schedule rather than committing to a single genre, which is the older model of radio: one station serving a whole audience through the day rather than one slice of it. It broadcasts by stream, so it reaches listeners anywhere.
Yes. The stream is open and there is nothing to configure, so Boom Light plays the same from anywhere. The only thing to watch is the time difference if you are following a particular programme.
An hour of Boom Light costs roughly 30 to 60 MB. For comparison, standard-definition video can use that in a few minutes.
Reload the page first, which resolves it most of the time. If it still will not start, the station may be restarting its own server — that clears on its own within a few minutes and is nothing to do with this site.
