About Chon live
Technical details, frequency and station information
Chon is a British radio station broadcasting on FM 98.1. Its schedule is a mixed one, moving between music, talk and entertainment across the day.
Because it also streams online, Chon does not depend on how close you are to a transmitter. That usually solves the problem for anyone outside the coverage area or picking up a weak signal.
You can listen to Chon live right here: hit play and the stream starts. There is nothing to download and nothing to register.

Frequently asked questions about Chon live
The FM 98.1 signal reaches as far as the transmitter carries it and no further. Streaming removes that limit entirely: what plays here is the same output going out over the air, so Chon sounds the same from another part of the country or from abroad.
Chon keeps a mixed schedule rather than committing to a single genre, which is the older model of radio: one station serving a whole audience through the day rather than one slice of it. It is on FM 98.1 and also streams online.
It covers the whole of the United Kingdom. British radio splits fairly sharply between national networks like this one and the local and community stations that serve a single area.
FM 98.1. If a set will not hold the signal cleanly — common indoors and in built-up areas — the stream above sidesteps the problem entirely.
Usually the connection rather than the station: streaming needs a steady flow and any dip interrupts it. Reloading the page fixes most cases; switching network or closing other tabs handles the rest.
