Frequently asked questions about Island Time live
No — Island Time broadcasts over the internet only, so there is no frequency to find on a set. That is a deliberate trade: an online station skips the cost of a broadcast licence and reaches the whole country from day one, but it needs a connection at the listener's end. Press play above and it runs in the browser.
Island Time keeps a mixed schedule rather than committing to a single genre, which is the older model of radio: one station serving a whole audience through the day rather than one slice of it. It broadcasts by stream, so it reaches listeners anywhere.
National. Island Time is not tied to one transmitter area, which is what allows a station to build a format around a genre rather than a place.
There is no charge and no account. All you need is a connection; the stream itself is open.
Yes, and without installing anything — open this page on your phone and press play. Worth using wi-fi for long sessions, simply for the data.
