About Jorvik Radio live
Technical details, frequency and station information
Jorvik Radio goes out to a UK-wide audience and leans on a varied playlist to carry the listener through the day.
Because it also streams online, Jorvik Radio does not depend on how close you are to a transmitter. That usually solves the problem for anyone outside the coverage area or picking up a weak signal.
To listen to Jorvik Radio live, press play on the player at the top of this page. It is free, needs no sign-up and works on a phone, tablet or computer.

Frequently asked questions about Jorvik Radio live
No — Jorvik Radio broadcasts over the internet only, so there is no frequency to find on a set. That is a deliberate trade: an online station skips the cost of a broadcast licence and reaches the whole country from day one, but it needs a connection at the listener's end. Press play above and it runs in the browser.
Jorvik Radio keeps a mixed schedule rather than committing to a single genre, which is the older model of radio: one station serving a whole audience through the day rather than one slice of it. It broadcasts by stream, so it reaches listeners anywhere.
It covers the whole of the United Kingdom. British radio splits fairly sharply between national networks like this one and the local and community stations that serve a single area.
Yes, and without installing anything — open this page on your phone and press play. Worth using wi-fi for long sessions, simply for the data.
Not especially — around 30 to 60 MB an hour. On a capped tariff a full working day of Jorvik Radio would be noticeable, so wi-fi is worth using where you can.
