Frequently asked questions about Noods Radio live
No — Noods Radio broadcasts over the internet only, so there is no frequency to find on a set. That is a deliberate trade: an online station skips the cost of a broadcast licence and reaches the whole country from day one, but it needs a connection at the listener's end. Press play above and it runs in the browser.
Noods Radio keeps a mixed schedule rather than committing to a single genre, which is the older model of radio: one station serving a whole audience through the day rather than one slice of it. It broadcasts by stream, so it reaches listeners anywhere.
It covers the whole of the United Kingdom. British radio splits fairly sharply between national networks like this one and the local and community stations that serve a single area.
Yes, and without installing anything — open this page on your phone and press play. Worth using wi-fi for long sessions, simply for the data.
An hour of Noods Radio costs roughly 30 to 60 MB. For comparison, standard-definition video can use that in a few minutes.
