Smooth Relax live

Smooth Relax is Global's station for relaxing pop, sold under the line "Your Relaxing Music Mix". It plays the calmest songs from the easy-listening end of the charts — the likes of Lionel Richie, Adele, George Michael, Elton John, Whitney Houston and Phil Collins. It launched on Monday 8 January 2024. Global's founder, Ashley Tabor-King, described it as "a non-stop sanctuary to our listeners, an oasis of calm". Smooth Relax takes the gentlest part of Smooth Radio's playlist and makes a whole station of it. Unlike Smooth Chill, which plays ambient, downtempo and chill-out music, Smooth Relax sticks to familiar songs with vocals: slow pop, soft rock and ballads that most listeners already know. It is made for winding down in the evening, working quietly or background listening at home. It joined Smooth Radio, Smooth Chill and Smooth Country on DAB, and the Smooth family later grew further with Smooth 70s, Smooth 80s and Smooth Soul. Smooth Relax is on DAB across the UK on the national D1 multiplex, on Global Player and globalplayer.com, and on smart speakers. The stream on this page plays it in any browser.
