About Magic Radio UK live

Technical details, frequency and station information

Magic Radio is Bauer's national station for melodic, easy-going pop, which since 27 December 2024 has described its music as "the best variety from the 80s to now" — the likes of Elton John, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Simply Red and Ed Sheeran. It reached around 2.4 million listeners a week in the summer of 2025, according to RAJAR. It began in London as Melody FM on 9 July 1990 and became Magic in December 1998, broadcasting on 105.4 FM in the capital. It went national on 5 January 2015, when Bauer put it on the Digital One DAB multiplex, and switched to stereo DAB+ across the UK on 31 March 2025. The weekday breakfast show is presented by Gok Wan and Harriet Scott. Nick Snaith presents mid-mornings, Jo Russell afternoons and Dan Morrissey evenings, while Gaby Roslin and Sonali Shah present at weekends. Magic's format is relaxed adult pop, presented calmly and designed for all-day listening at home or at work, and it competes directly with Global's Smooth Radio for the same audience. The brand also runs several spin-offs: Mellow Magic, Magic Soul for soul and Motown, and Magic Musicals for show tunes. Magic is on DAB+ across the UK, in the Rayo app and online, and on FM in London (105.4) and Bristol (106.5). The stream on this page is the national feed.
