Capital Anthems live

Capital Anthems is Global's station for the songs Capital made famous: the big pop, dance and R&B hits of the last two decades, from artists such as Coldplay, Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and One Direction. It launched on 12 September 2024 as one of twelve new stations Global switched on in a single day, a launch the company described as the biggest shake-up of British radio since Global itself was founded in 2007. The same day brought Heart 10s, Heart Love and Heart Musicals, Smooth 70s, 80s and Soul, three new Radio X stations, and Classic FM Calm and Movies. The idea is simple. Capital, the main station, stays close to the current chart and a young audience; Capital Anthems looks back at the tracks that were on heavy rotation when that audience was growing up, and plays them without the pressure of the latest release. It makes the station a natural choice for parties, the gym or a long drive. Most of the day is a continuous playlist, with Miranda Burns presenting weekday afternoons from midday. Capital Anthems is on DAB across the UK, on the national D2 multiplex, as well as on Global Player, smart speakers and smart TVs. The stream on this page plays it in any browser.
