BBC Radio 1 Anthems live

BBC Radio 1 Anthems is the BBC's station for the biggest songs of the 2000s and 2010s — the era when many of today's adults were growing up with Radio 1 on in the background. Where Radio 1 itself plays the current chart and new music, Anthems looks back to the tracks the station helped make famous. It started on BBC Sounds on 8 November 2024 and moved onto DAB+ on 9 September 2025, after Ofcom approved the expansion on 2 July 2025. It launched on digital radio together with Radio 1 Dance and Radio 3 Unwind, and the three were the first new BBC music radio services since 2002, when 1Xtra, 6 Music and the Asian Network went on air. Most of the output is curated rather than live. The day is built around themed programmes — nostalgia, workouts, chill-out and party soundtracks — with shows from Radio 1 presenters including Dean McCullough, Jess Iszatt, Maia Beth and Lauren Redfern, who also presents its countdowns of the greatest anthems. Radio 1 Anthems is on DAB+ across the UK, on channel 12B, and on BBC Sounds. Older DAB radios that do not support DAB+ cannot receive it; the live stream on this page works in any browser.
