Frequently asked questions about Oldskool UK live
Neither. Oldskool UK is internet-only, which in practice means no coverage map and no interference: it sounds the same in Cornwall, in Glasgow and abroad. The player on this page carries the live feed, free and without an account.
Stations in this format usually run mixed sets rather than three-minute singles, because the music is built to be beat-matched and a set needs room to develop. That length is exactly what commercial daytime radio cannot accommodate, and it is why so much dance radio in Britain moved online.
Yes. The stream is open and there is nothing to configure, so Oldskool UK plays the same from anywhere. The only thing to watch is the time difference if you are following a particular programme.
No. Oldskool UK plays directly in the browser with nothing to download and no account to create. It works the same on Android, iPhone and desktop.
Less than most people expect. Streaming Oldskool UK runs at roughly 30 to 60 MB an hour depending on the bitrate, well below video.
