Heart 70s live

Heart 70s is Global's national station for the 1970s: glam rock, disco, soul, singer-songwriters and the big pop hits of a decade British radio has never stopped playing. It is the oldest slice of the Heart catalogue, given a station of its own. It launched on 30 August 2019, one day after Heart 90s, in the week Heart 80s moved from mono DAB to stereo DAB+ and freed space on the national multiplex. It broadcasts from Global's studios in Leicester Square, London. The weekday breakfast show and a Saturday morning show are presented by Carlos. Outside those hours Heart 70s runs as a continuous playlist, which suits a decade station well: nothing is new, nothing is being tested on an audience, and the running order can move from ABBA to David Bowie to Stevie Wonder without anyone feeling the jolt. That is a very different job from the main Heart station, which has to balance familiar songs against current hits. Heart 70s sits at the start of a family that runs through Heart 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s. Heart 70s is on DAB+ across the UK on the Digital One multiplex and on Global Player. Older radios that do not support DAB+ cannot receive it; the stream on this page works in any browser.
